He wasn’t necessarily the most hard working employee, but everyone at the company started asking him to help them with excel. This resulted in the other employees not learning the key functions in excel, because they relied on the guy that knew the most about excel. In the end the company couldn’t afford to let him go, because then they would have to pay for all the other employees to go a course about excel.
Instead of being scared about AI taking your job away you should embrace the emergence of AI and become the best at using it.
